What is SEO?
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of enticing Google to send customers to your website for free.
Yeah, you read that right…for FREE.
As much as not paying for targeted traffic rocks, you should know it’s not as easy to pull off as it used to be. Shysters and fake gurus have infiltrated the SEO industry and they’re looking to separate you from your money and do it fast.
What you learn in this post will help you to NOT mistake their chicken dung as an egg.
Is SEO the Same as SEM?
There are two ways to get Google to send new customers to your website.
SEM, and SEO.
SEM involves paying Google for traffic (also known as Search Engine Marketing or Pay Per Click PPC). This strategy involves setting up ad campaigns with Google AdWords and paying for clicks to your site.
If you have a sizable budget to work with, SEM often works. Without the funds to finance the clicks, the strategy fails because there won’t be enough traffic to get you the sales you need to be able to grow your business.
SEO, as I said, is about getting Google to send you new customers for FREE.
I won’t sugar coat it though.
It takes a fair amount of effort to get Google to begin trusting your site enough to send traffic to you for free.

Is SEO Right for Your Business and Location?
Do you run a real business that takes excellent care of your customers? If so, SEO is for you.
It not, you need to come to grips with the fact you’ll need to pay Google to get traffic to your site.
Fly by night operations have a very hard time these days convincing Google to send free customers to them. There was a time not too long ago where this wasn’t true. But thankfully those days are gone and never coming back.
If that’s you, I recommend you get busy legitimizing your service or product line before attempting to advertise it in any way.
So scram until you do. Thanks.
Beware of Harmful Outdated SEO Tactics
It is harder than ever to learn SEO in 2020 because of the MASSIVE GLUT of outdated tactics plastered across the web by the so-called gurus.
Getting mixed up with such tactics will kill your SEO campaign FAST.
Be on guard against them.
The Secret Service Agency protecting our President also is in charge of protecting US currency from counterfeiters. The way they train their agents to recognize phony bills is by studying real ones. They never study the fakes. That way when they encounter fakes they can instantly spot them.
You can learn SEO in the same way.
Instead of learning all the tactics that no longer work, study the ones that work today.
Choose Sources You Can Trust
The first step I recommend you take today is to get yourself up to speed regarding the current state of affairs with SEO from sources you can trust.
